Exuviae was produced by taking a latex cast from the surface of a taxidermied lizard*, flattening the cast and photographing it. The photographic image was enlarged and drawn on paper using a grid system. During the drawing process the surface of the paper was repeatedly covered with layers of graphite and carbon powder, which in turn were rubbed away leaving residual eraser shavings underneath the image.

*The taxidermied lizard specimen used in the production of the work was sourced ethically as it died of natural causes.
